Data centres

In Italy the scarce thing is not land. It is power at the point where you want to build. We work on sites where a connection is realistically available, and we introduce investors to the Italian firms that can secure it and build on it.

Three ways in

Most enquiries land in one of these. They are not mutually exclusive: the same site often serves more than one of them.

Land with a connection

Italian sites assessed for what actually matters here: the capacity available at the connection point, the distance to it, and whether the land classification allows this kind of building at all.

Development and construction

The firms we introduce cover industrial building as well as renewables, so a site can be taken from land through authorisation to a built facility without changing counterparties halfway.

Renewable supply

For facilities already running or already planned, the same network works on the generation side: photovoltaic, agrivoltaic and storage projects intended to supply them.

What decides a site

The order matters. A site that fails the first item is not rescued by being excellent at the rest.

Capacity at the connection point sets the ceiling. The land, the building and the generation follow from it.

  • Capacity at the connection point. Whether the grid in that spot can realistically carry the load you intend to draw, and on what timescale.
  • What the land is classified as. Industrial building has its own planning route, and it is not the one a solar project follows.
  • Access and the surroundings. Heavy construction, permanent operation and everything that comes with both.
  • The rest, verified by the appointed firms. Connectivity routes, cooling and water, environmental constraints: these are engineering questions, answered by engineers rather than by us.

Questions we are asked first

Do you build data centres?

No. We are a consultancy and we make introductions. Design, authorisation and construction sit with Italian firms whose work covers industrial building alongside renewables, each under its own professional responsibility. The sequence is the same one set out under how we work.

What size of site should I be asking about?

There is no single threshold. What sets the ceiling is the capacity available at the connection point, not the hectares, and that varies site by site.

Can renewable generation be combined with the facility?

It is a common reason people arrive here. The same network works on photovoltaic, agrivoltaic and storage projects, so generation and facility can be looked at together rather than as two unrelated exercises.

We already have a site in mind. Is that useful?

Yes, and it usually shortens the conversation. Send the location and the load you are planning for, and the first question to answer is what the connection point can carry.

This page is not an offer to sell or a solicitation to buy any security, financial instrument or participation, and nothing on it constitutes investment advice. Grid capacity, authorisation routes and site suitability are subject to verification by the competent authorities and by the professional firms appointed by the parties.

Tell us where and how much power

A location and a load figure are enough to start. If the grid there cannot carry it, you will know quickly.
